The first film. Made in 1975. I was just out of Christer Strömholms photographic school and had a collection from an abandoned candle factory in Stockholm.I got in touch with The Royal Academy of Fine Arts and professor PO Ultvedt and just started animating. And still is! Complete with dust, scratches and all. 20 min

Still at the Academy I found this old tale of the two pirates who dwelled in a cave in the archipelago. There they ravaged the waters nearby. The film was produced by The Swedish Film Institute. With this film I discovered the magic of sound and how it can actually save a film. 1978. 21 min

New challenges. I was asked to do a film on somebody else's illustrated book. I had many doubts, but the story was so beautiful that I just had to do it. So I changed a lot, new music, new location, new images. It was a huge achievement but also, as far as shorts go, a huge success. 1981. 24 min

Quite exhausted after Alban, I wanted something "lighter". So I began with these rhymes and after a few dramaturgical adjustments I had a story. I left working with realistic backgrounds for a wild dollhouse style. The film was produced by Swedish TV. 1982. 10 min

Encouraged by the amusing new way of working I decided to make a second fable, but a little more complicated in the interactions between the cast. It's about how much stress a domesticated wolf can take before he reverts to the wild animal he really is. 1984. 13 min

Since all good things are three, we needed another film to make theatre package. This one was even more complicated and circled around mythomania. Where lies upon lies demands more lies. And in a funny way you may learn something from this fable. 1986. 24 min

After working with a feature for seven years I returned to the fable concept. This time with a slightly different look. Once again dealing with human shortcomings. The story is well constructed as a drama following the old Greek rules. 1997. 12 min.

The script and the song was written ten years before I made the film. It was meant to be a puppet film, but in the meantime, fortunately, 3D animation had appeared and that was a very nice, but very complicated acquaintance. The song however, is a simple and effective construction. 2007. 10 min

This is my most nutty film. So far... A stream of consciousness rather than a constructed drama. This was also written some ten years ahead of production. It was meant to be a pixillation, but luckily 3D animation stepped in. 2010. 10 min |
